Join the Restoration Team
There are many ways you can help the restoration team get Martha back in service. Here are a few:
-
Volunteer your time actually working on the boat at Rurark Boatworks in Cambridge. We have skilled shipwrights leading the reconstruction. However, there will be lots "unskilled" labor needs to support them. Right now our needs are minimal. But as we move into spring and summer, more opportunities will be developing.
-
Helping us acquire items from a long list of supplies and equipment that we will need when we become operational in the spring of 2022.
-
Help spread the word about Martha's restoration by sharing posts on your personal FaceBook page and sending links to our website to friends and family.
-
At times we need pick-up trucks and trailers to move supplies and materials to Cambridge.
-
And, of course, we can always use financial donations. The restoration and operational grants that we secure always require cash matches. Our MHAA grant, for example, requires a 100% match -- 25% can be in-kind services (such as your volunteer hours) and 75% cash in the bank.
-
When you buy things for yourself on Amazon, go to Amazon Smile and link your account to Chesapeake Heritage Conservancy. A portion of your order amount will be donated by Amazon to Martha's restoration.
-
Suggest vendors who may be willing to donate supplies and equipment or offer it to us at a discount. We can use the difference between their retail price and the discounted price they give to us as in-kind match.

Use PayPal to donate. You don't need a PayPal account to contribute here.
